Growing up in the warmth of Southern California, GLH instructor, Scooter Vaughan, is no stranger to putting in the work in the cold. Playing for stickhanding camp guru, Jeff Turcotte and the California Wave, Scooter refined his skills which lead to him earning a spot with Jon Cooper(Tampa Bay Lightning Head Coach) and the St. Louis Bandits, where he played his Jr. career.
During his Jr. playing career, Scooter racked up the accolades. Named to the all rookie team, all NAHL second team, and capping it off with a National Championship in 2007. His play then earned him a scholarship to the University of Michigan. In his four years at Michigan, the Wolverines went on to win two CCHA Regular Season and Playoff titles, along with a pair of Frozen Four appearances. Vaughan also excelled in the classroom being named all academic/ athletic honors twice.
